Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated Cross-Platform Play
SpongeBob SquarePants Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated has just released onto PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. However, some players are currently wondering if this loveable remaster supports cross-platform play amongst the many systems it is released on. That said, in this guide, we are going to take a look at the Spongebob Squarepants Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated cross-platform play options.
Does Spongebob Squarepants Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated Support Cross-Platform Play?
Simply put, Spongebob Squarepants Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated does not support cross-platform play. However, those who purchase the game on Steam will be able to play with Epic Games store users and vice versa. It is also worth nothing that Steam users will not be able to play with GOG Galaxy users, despite being able to with Epic Games users. So while it’s not as good as crossplay, there is still a little bit of good news.
Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated also has a “Play Together” feature on Steam, while not a crossplay feature, it’s better than nothing. With this feature, only one person needs to own the game to be able to play with friends — but it is only possible in the muiltplayer horde mode, sadly. Overall, it is still unfortunate that a game like this doesn’t support cross-platform play, but it is what it is.
If you’re not familiar with the game, it was originally released back in 2003. The game features several notable characters from the underwater metropolis while staying true to the original game. The remaster features upgraded graphics and restored content that was cut from the original 2003 game. Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated is currently available now on Steam, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.
