Destiny 2’s latest expansion, Lightfall, has made big changes with the addition of a new subclass. Of course, we are talking about the Strand Subclasses, which have joined the already-known Arc, Solar, Void, and Stasis subclasses. It’s represented by a fluorescent green color scheme, its focus is on the power of Darkness. Given how intriguing that sounds, it’s no surprise Guardians are eager to test out the powers and abilities of this new subclass. So, keep reading to find out how to unlock the Strand subclasses in Destiny 2.
How to Unlock the Strand Subclasses in Destiny 2
To unlock the Strand Subclasses in Destiny 2, you need to complete the Lightfall campaign and then meditate at Pouka Pond on Neomuna. While you can try out this subclass throughout Lightfall’s story, you won’t be able to fully utilize it until you’ve completed all of the expansion’s missions. After that, go to Pouka Pond in Neomuna and meditate. This will unlock the Strand Subclass which you can then switch to in the top left of the character screen, just like any other subclass.
Now that you’ve unlocked the Strand Subclass, next you’re probably wondering how to unlock the upgrades for its abilities. To do that, simply return to Pouka Pond in Neomuna and meditate. This will display the Strand Subclasses’ Fragment and Aspect upgrades. You will, however, need Strand Meditations to purchase and use them. You can earn Strand Meditations by using the Strand Subclasses abilities throughout Neomuna and also by completing side missions in the region.
If you’re having a fun time using the new Strand Subclass abilities, you’ll eventually want to invest in its upgrades. In total, there are six Aspects (two for each of the classes: Hunter, Warlock, and Titan) and 14 Fragments up for grabs. Still much remains unknown about the Strand Subclasses’ upgrades and abilities, but so far they appear to offer a new and exciting playstyle worth trying out.
