Madden 21 Transfer to PS5

Does Madden 21 Transfer to PS5?

The latest installment in the Madden series is set to arrive on console this August, just a few months ahead of the release of the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. With new hardware on the horizon, you may find yourself trying to decide if you should purchase the game now or wait until the new consoles have released. However, if you don’t want to wait, you’re probably wondering, does Madden 21 transfer to PS5?

Will Madden 21 Content Transfer from PlayStation 4 to PS5?

Yes, content from Madden 21 will transfer to PS5 from a PS4 and from an Xbox One to a Series X. However, the content will not transfer from a PS4 to a Series X and vice versa. So, if you are planning to upgrade to next-gen and are playing the game on a current-gen console, you’ll need to stay in the same hardware family.

In addition to the transfer to PS5, players will also receive a free next-gen upgrade if they are playing on an Xbox One or PlayStation 4 and decide to make the move to a Series X or PlayStation 5. However, it is worth noting here that if you purchase a physical edition of the game, you won’t be able to receive the free upgrades on a disc-less console, per a report from IGN.

This year’s installment will see a few new college teams join the game as well as a new mode called The Backyard. In it, players will compete in a 6 vs. 6 game mode that gives each side three possessions each. As you may expect, the team with the highest score at the end of the six total offensive possessions will take home the trophy.

Madden 21 will release on August 28, 2020 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Additionally, EA Play members will receive a 10 hour trial of the game starting on August 21.
