The Flask of Wondrous Physick in Elden Ring allows the Tarnished to mix in two different Crystal Tears that’ll produce helpful effects for a brief time. For the Cerulean Hidden Tear, the effect will eliminate all FP consumption for 15 seconds total. If FP usage is something you struggle with during combat, then this special Crystal Tear is one to add to your personal quest log.
How to Get the Cerulean Hidden Tear in Elden Ring
You’ll get the Cerulean Hidden Tear after defeating the Ulcerated Tree Spirit boss. He’s the one guarding the Minor Erdtree within Mt. Gelmir, east of the Road of Iniquity Site of Grace. The other nearby sites are the First Mt. Gelmir Campsite just east of the Erdtree, and the Ninth Mt. Gelmir Campsite which is slightly closer west to the location.
“A crystal tear formed slowly over the ages where the Erdtree’s bounty falls to the ground.”
There are a few notes to keep in mind when facing the Ulcerated Tree Spirit. First, you’ll be fighting on a slope around the Erdtree, so be cautious of where you move. The spirit has yellow fire-breathing abilities, some of which where he’ll shoot fire for a few seconds. You’ll also need to be wary of his tail whips and arm swings. He can generate a deadly personal space where you’ll have to dodge away from if he’s revving up for an attack.
The sweet spot to aim for is his belly, which is sometimes left unprotected when he’s breathing fire. This is the perfect window to deliver a heavy strike. Additionally, you can summon Spirits to aid you in battle as well. They’re always a nice distraction tool to use if you need the boss’s attention redirected for a couple of seconds.
Once the boss falls, you’ll receive Cerulean Hidden Tear along with the Leaden Hardtear, which temporarily boosts your poise for 10 seconds. You’ll also get 18,000 Runes for your efforts.
