Some of the best weapons in Elden Ring are ones you won’t actually have to fight for. Players focusing on Faith and Intelligence in particular can find a very desirable blade hidden in an unguarded room. It’s called the Sword of Night and Flame, and it bestows the especially powerful Night-and-Flame Stance. This Skill lets you use powerful Sorceries that are built into the blade itself, making it an especially potent weapon for Spellsword builds. Here’s where to find it.
Where to Find the Sword of Night and Flame
The Sword of Night and Flame can be found within Caria Manor. It’s located within a hidden room just off the main path through the estate. To reach it, you’ll have to follow a secret passage down to the manor’s central grounds.
Unlike other high-end armaments in Elden Ring, this weapon is not difficult to reach. First, start at the Manor Lower Level Site of Grace, then head outside. On the bridges you’ll be ambushed by spectral soldiers; you’ll need to either fight them or run away quickly. So long as you have decent magic defense, they shouldn’t put up too much resistance.
Take a left at the first fork, then follow the path as it continues southeast. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you see the crumbling structure below and to your left. That’s where you need to go. Continue past the next bridge, then look for a gap you can use to jump down to the roof below. Once there, jump down once more to spot the ladder leading to the ground floor.
At the bottom of the ladder, you’ll find yourself in a room filled with books and Glintstones. Among the rubble is a treasure chest containing the Sword of Night and Flame. Open it to claim your prize. The Night-and-Flame Stance will be of particular interest, assuming you’ve the power to wield the sword: You’ll need STR and DEX at 12 minimum, while your INT and FAI stats must be at least 24. If not, well, you’ll have plenty of time to level up while tracking down every map fragment.
