Since its initial release in 2017, Fortnite has been an immensely popular battle royale. One of the main reasons gamers continue to grind it is because the game contains some of the best skins and cosmetics on the market. The majority of items are obtained from the storefront or unlocked via the battle pass. However, the most recent update added some rare skins that can only be obtained by increasing your account level. This has left some players confused as to what account levels are and how to increase them, which is why we’ll explain the details of both in this guide.
How to Gain Account Levels in Fortnite
Your account level in Fortnite is the number of levels you’ve gained across all the Fortnite seasons. In the lobby, you can see your account level in the middle left of the screen. It will also have an XP bar indicating how much more you need to level up. You can see how much XP you’ve earned across all Fortnite seasons to achieve this account level by going to the Career tab and looking at the top right. So, how exactly do you increase account levels in Fortnite?
Fortunately, it’s easy. To gain account levels in Fortnite, you need to increase your battle pass levels. This rule applies regardless of whether you’re on the free or the paid battle pass. In other words, the easiest way to gain account levels is to simply keep playing the game. You should focus on completing quests to level your battle pass more quickly. However, keep in mind that you’ll earn XP towards your battle pass by doing just about anything in the game. Getting kills, opening chests, and even placing higher in a match all will accumulate battle pass XP.
So, in summary, to earn account levels in Fortnite, you simply need to earn battle pass levels. Which essentially means, playing the game as much as you can. Each battle pass level you earn will help you gain your account level. It’s worth noting that skins you unlock for earning a certain number of account levels, like the most recent Chrome Punk Skin, are not satisfied by your current account level. When these skins drop on the market, you’ll need to earn 10, 20, or even 50 account levels on top of your current level to unlock the skin.
