Geoff Keighley Teases Special Announcement With Hideo Kojima
The Game Awards creator and host Geoff Keighley is teasing a special announcement from Hideo Kojima that is supposedly related to the launch of Death Stranding on PC, which is set to release on July 14. The announcement will come in the form of an interview as part of Keighley’s Summer Game Fest event on Monday, July 13 at 9 AM ET.
At the time of writing, it’s unclear what kind of announcement Hideo Kojima and Geoff Keighley have in store. Since we do know that it is about the PC release of Death Stranding, some are speculating that Kojima could announce some type of PC exclusive feature or mode alongside its launch. However, for now, we can only guess. If you’d like to watch the event live, you can do so at the official Summer Game Fest website.
If you need a refresher, Death Stranding originally released on the PlayStation 4 as a timed exclusive in November 2019 and is just now getting ready to release on PC. The game follows Norman Reedus’ Sam Porter Bridges as he travels around a desolate version of Earth while trying to reconnect it.
During his journey, Sam Bridges will encounter a handful of different allies, enemies, and celebrity cameos, including one from Keighley himself. Death Stranding received mixed reviews at launch, with some praising it for its creativity and willingness to try something new, while others disregarded it as a glorified walking simulator. With the game finally set to come to PC, it should be interesting to see what a new crowd of players thinks of Kojima’s latest game.
It will also be interesting to see if the Keighly Kojima announcement will bring anything new to the PC version of the game or reveal any type of world expansion. We will find out on Monday. If you’re planning to check out the PC release, we’ve got some guides that might help you out.
