But what happens when the main journey concludes, yet you’re hungry for more adventure? What if there is more out there to discover than what was already in front of us? Of course, we’re talking about any potential DLC for Hogwarts Legacy! The game is such a hit with critics and players, but can they expect additional content to magically appear post-launch? Let’s find out!
Will Hogwarts Legacy Have DLC?
Developer Avalanche Software has confirmed that Hogwarts Legacy will not receive any DLC, at least for the time being. This was announced by game director Alan Tew, who commented on the determination of the team’s goal to launch the title itself. “We’ve been really heads down bringing [Hogwarts Legacy] to life. So at the moment there are no current plans for DLC.”
This doesn’t necessarily come as a surprise considering Hogwarts Legacy has been in development for quite some time. The game has been in the making for about five or six years, with the well-known leak transpiring back in October of 2018. From there, fans of the Wizarding World had something huge to look forward to.
Thereafter, the game’s official announcement was made nearly two years after that, in September 2020. Only then were the Xbox, PlayStation, and PC versions announced. Delays occurred; the Switch port was eventually declared; Early Access opens live days before release with noticeable bugs.
Avalanche Developer has certainly been steering the ship carefully with Hogwarts Legacy. In addition to vital patch notes and updates, the game also delivered some items to certain students who purchased the title early on. So, while there technically is DLC for Hogwarts Legacy, none of it is in the form of additional story-related content.
