A Mandrake will be all too familiar to anyone who has seen the Harry Potter films. These tiny screaming plants can give anyone a splitting headache, and while you might think that’s all they’re good for, they can actually use them to your advantage in Hogwarts Legacy. By pulling out a Mandrake, you can stun enemies, allowing you to follow up with some of your most powerful spells or get some potions off. That’s why every Wizard and Witch needs a Mandrake, so read on to learn where you can find one.
Where to Find Mandrake in Hogwarts Legacy
In Hogwarts Legacy, you can either buy a fully grown Mandrake or grow your own. In either case, you must travel north of Hogsmeade to the Dogweed and Deathcap shop. When you arrive at the shop, speak with Beatrice Green, as she is the only one who sells Mandrakes. She will sell you a fully grown Mandrake for 500 Galleons, or seeds to grow the creature for 800.
We strongly advise you to purchase seeds so that you can always grow a Mandrake for free whenever you need it, rather than spending 500 Galleons on a new one every time. Especially considering they are single-use items, you’ll want to keep them handy. You can grow Mandrakes in any size pot in your Room of Requirement, negating the need for any external cost.
You can also find Mandrakes out in the wild, specifically in the Forbidden Forest, but they aren’t all that common. So, you’re much better off buying one, and, as previously said, their seeds.
When you use a Mandrake, its scream will temporarily stun a group of enemies in close proximity to you. This can often be a game changer in a tough or crowded fight, which is why you’ll want to keep these pocket-sized companions with you whenever you’re out adventuring.
