Is Battletoads on Xbox Game Pass?
With Battletoads set to release this August on Xbox One and PC, lots of players are wondering if it will be available on Xbox Game Pass. This question shouldn’t really come as a surprise, as the service has definitively established itself as the best deal in gaming. So, will Battletoads be on Game Pass? Let’s take a look.
Will Battletoads be on Xbox Game Pass?
Yes, Battletoads is available on Xbox Game Pass day one, starting August 20. Active subscribers will be able to download the game for free with the service and experience all of the fun that the reboot has to offer. Of course, if you’re not a subscriber, you can also purchase the game from the Xbox store.
If you’ve never tried out Xbox Game Pass before, there are typically signup deals available on the console homepage that will allow you to get a free trial for $1. During that time, you’ll be able to download Battletoads and any other game available through the service, like Mortal Shell. The only thing to note is that if your subscription expires, you won’t be able to play the game unless you renew it or purchase it from the store. However, you won’t lose your save data unless you delete the files off of your Xbox.
The 2020 remaster of Battletoads will be the first addition to the series in 26 years following the 1994 release of Battletoads Arcade. The new title is being developed by Rare and was announced at E3 2019. Staying true to the franchise roots, the game will be a side-scrolling beat ’em up and will allow three players to join forces with friends via co-op play.
The reboot will also feature beloved characters Rash, Zitz, and Pimple as they will work their way through a variety of unpredictable levels. Of course, working with other players will make the unexpected a little more…expected…but is completely optional depending on your personal preference.
