If you’ve been playing Minecraft Dungeons recently, you’ve probably realized that it’s a bit different than the original game. This new playstyle has left a lot of players wondering if you can drop items in Minecraft Dungeons. Let’s take a look at what we know so far about drops and item trades.
Can You Trade and Drop Items in Minecraft Dungeons?
In the latest installment to the franchise, players aren’t focused on crafting and building, but instead are exploring randomly generated dungeons as they make their way through the main story. Unfortunately, there is no way to trade or drop items Minecraft Dungeons for other players to pick up.
While this is certainly frustrating, there is an abundance of loot to be found in each episode while playing through the story. It is also worth noting that loot drops are specific for individual players. This means that if you come across a chest filled with loot, what’s inside will be different for each member of your party. For example, Player A might find a rare piece of armor, while Player B might find a rare weapon.
While it’d be nice if the players could trade and drop items in Minecraft Dungeons so that everyone is well equipped, this system should at least prevent fighting over high-tier loot. There are four main categories of loot in Minecraft Dungeons, which we have detailed in the list below.
Like we mentioned above, there will be plenty of opportunities to gather different types of loot in the game. So if everyone in your party is paying attention, there should be plenty to go around. Further, when Gems drop, they are dropped individually for each player, so everyone in your party will want to pick those up!
Since the game supports up to four players, it’s a bit surprising that Minecraft Dungeons doesn’t support dropping and trading loot between players. However, at the time of writing, this simply isn’t a feature. Although, the Minecraft community is both large and passionate, so it’s possible that Microsoft could look into adding this feature in a future update if there are enough fan complaints.
If you’ve yet to try Minecraft Dungeons, it is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows, and the Nintendo Switch. Further, the game is free to Game Pass subscribers and supports the Xbox Play Anywhere feature.
