If you have been trying to figure out how to get your vassal of a faction or kingdom to declare war in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord, you’re probably having a hard time figuring it out. Bannerlord is in Steam Early Access, so some features haven’t been added into the game yet, and declaring war is one of them. However, there are some ways players can get around the lack of a declare war option in the game. That said, in this guide, we will look into how to declare war In Bannerlord.
How to Declare War
As previously stated, declaring war in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord is not yet an option, so players cannot declare war in the traditional sense. However, get around this, players can commit hostile actions such as raiding villages, attacking caravans, and attacking rival Faction lords and parties. Eventually, once the player commits enough hostile acts towards a Faction, they will declare war on your Kingdom.
At present, this is the only way for players to declare war without an actual option to do so. Wars will still technically happen, but they’ll be without player input and more randomized.
If you want to declare war, simply find a Faction to pick on and start attacking them over and over again. However, we highly recommend making sure your Faction or the Faction you are a vassal in is strong enough to fight a war. Take a moment to train your troops and increase garrisons in any owned fiefs, then when you are ready, you can start the war you want.
Further down the line in Early Access development, it’s likely that developers will add an official declare war feature, which will likely work similarly to previous titles, but with some changes. For example, we think players will either be able to declare war or use influence to propose it while being a vassal.
In addition, the option to propose peace during the war by using influence might be a feature added in a future update. However, for now we will have to make do with the features we do have. Now that you know how to declare war in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord, get out there and cause some chaos! It may be not as simple as an actual declare war option, but in the end, it will still get the job done.
