Sea of Thieves Mercado Key | How to Get

If you’ve been plundering the waters of the newest Sea of Thieves expansion A Pirate’s Life, then you’ve probably been exploring all the extra goodies throughout the games’ Tall Tales. But you may be having some trouble finding one particular item, the Mercado Key. In this guide, we’ll help you find the hidden key within the Captains of the Damned Tall Tale.

How to Get the Mercado Key in Sea of Thieves

Sea of Thieves Mercado Key | How to Get

The Mercado key can be found next to a well within the Captains of the Damned Tall Tale. You’ll need to collect the key in order to complete the commendation, Treasure for Eternity. Specifically, to pick up the key, you will first need to make your way to the village. Once you do, look for the well where they are torturing a character named Carlos. Around the edge of the well, you will find the key.

Once you pick up the Mercado key, you’ll want to make your way further through the village until you find a building with a clock tower and the word “MERCADO” written on it. Go to the right side of the building, and you should find a door with the letter “M” written on it. You can use the key to unlock it.

Once inside, go up the stairs till you find an open window with an unlit torch next to it. Light the torch with your lantern, then head back outside and around to the other side of the building. You’ll follow the path leading to the dock and get into the boat there.

As you enter the boat, you should see another that’s manned by ghosts in front of you. Follow it until you reach a spot where the two ghosts from the other ship are digging. Help them dig up the item, marked as the Villager’s Valuables, and then hand it off to the two skeletons now sitting in your boat. Once you’ve passed it off, the Treasure for Eternity commendation should pop up, confirming you’ve completed it.

While on paper finding the Mercado key seems easy, if you don’t know where to look beforehand it’s understandable that you may have missed it. Hopefully, with this guide you are now one step closer to completing your adventure in A Pirate’s Life.
