When is the Slime Rancher 2 Release Date

Slime Rancher 2 release date

The Slime Rancher 2 release date is currently set for 2022, launching on the Xbox Series X|S and PC. Further, it will also be available on Game Pass day one. Unfortunately, the sequel will not be releasing on PlayStation 4 or 5, as it was revealed at E3 2021 as an Xbox console exclusive.

While the sequel isn’t coming to PlayStation devices at launch, it is possible that we could see it ported over to the PlayStation 4 and 5 a few years after the Slime Rancher 2 release date. If you’re a longtime fan, you may remember that in 2016 the original game only released on PC and Xbox, and then came to the PS4 in 2018. So there is some hope that it’s only a timed exclusive, though we haven’t gotten an official statement from developers at the time of writing.

At E3 2021, we got our first official look at the wiggly new adventure that promises more of the slime hunting fun that we couldn’t get enough of in the first game. The official announcement trailer showed off lots of vibrant environments to explore like the Slime Sea and Rainbow Island, along with colorful new slimes to hunt down and collect.

As you continue the journey of Beatrix LeBeau in Slime Rancher 2, you’ll also enjoy improved graphics, which will take advantage of the next-gen hardware within the Xbox Series X. Unfortunately, that’s about all we know about the game right now. However, as we near the Slime Rancher release date in 2022, we should get even more details about the slimy new adventure.
