The Callisto Protocol DLC Roadmap Teases New Game+ And Hardcore Mode

Sometimes games need to delay additional content in order to keep to a schedule. Still, that doesn’t mean there aren’t plans in place. With The Callisto Protocol now available, the development has already revealed plans to introduce extra content. The development roadmap reveals upcoming options to play through New Game+ as well as an all-new Hardcore mode. Here’s everything we know about the game’s upcoming content and future DLC roadmap.

The Callisto Protocol Future DLC Plans

Announced in 2020, The Callisto Protocol drew the attention of horror and sci-fi fans alike. Now that the game has launched, there are already plans in place to expand its content. As revealed via tweet, Striking Distance Studios has announced several ideas that it would like to implement in the next six months. The most notable of them include a Hardcore Mode, which will likely provide an even greater challenge to players. There’s also talk of a New Game+ feature, which is typically activated upon completing the game. Those two elements alone will give determined players something to look forward to in the coming months.

Sci-fi horror is a rich genre. Naturally, The Callisto Protocol fits right in among its peers. In a vein similar to the Dead Space games, the title follows an unfortunate bunch of humans trapped in a terrifying scenario with other transformed people. Players take on the role of Jacob Lee, an inmate of maximum security prison located on Jupiter’s moon. As if being in prison weren’t bad enough, prisoners begin to mutate into hideous monsters. Left with no choice, Jacob is forced to fight his way out to survive. Gameplay includes a lot of action and gore from a third-person perspective with a focus on strategic combat.

The Callisto Protocol is still finding its legs as players pick apart its content and technical aspects. Even with a few issues, Striking Distance Studios hopes to improve upon the game with future updates. This roadmap is a step in the right direction, and early adopters are certainly happy to hear that New Gme+ is finally making an arrival.
