Wants and Fears are a feature in Sims 4 that keep day-to-day life a constant challenge. Without them, we would just carry about our days with pursuing aspirations or overcoming obstacles, and where’s the fun in that? So, sooner or later, your sim will develop one of the game’s many fears. They can even develop multiple at the same time. However, it is critical for your sims’ success that you eventually get rid of those fears. If you’re not sure how to do that, this guide will show you how to do so.

If you want to get rid of your fears in Sims 4, you’ll have to face them head-on. The table below will show you exactly how to overcome all the fears you can get in The Sims 4.

Fear Cause How to Get Rid of Fears
Fear of Fire Witnessing a Fire. – Build courage and extinguish a fire yourself.
Fear of Death Witnessing a close friend or family member get taken by Grim Reaper or performing a dangerous action. – Discuss fear of death with Elderly Sims

– Give Grim Reaper a Flower.

Fear of Failure Creating or performing something poorly. – Create an item of excellent quality and “show off work” to other sims.

– Ask for a performance review at work.

Fear of Crowded Spaces Being somewhere busy for too long. – While feeling confident, conduct a funny interaction in a crowded space.
Fear of Being Cheated On Ignoring your partner for a long time, or performing poorly in the relationship. – Discuss relationship fears with your partner.

– Break up with them.

Fear of Cowplants Get eaten by a Cowplant and survive. – While feeling confident, milk a Cowplant.
Fear of the Dark Having an experience with an Occult sim outside at night. -While feeling confident, hang outside in the nighttime.
Fear of Swimming Go swimming while low on energy, or having a near-death experience swimming. – While feeling confident, go swimming.
Fear of Ghosts Having a negative experience with a ghost, or living in a haunted house. – Select the “fight” option under the interaction menu next time you come across a ghost.
Fear of Dead End Job Not being promoted for a long time. -Before going to work, select “Regain Passion” to get re-inspired.
Fear of Being Judged Other sims performing mean interactions with your sim. – Find the sim who was being mean, interact with them, and select “Work out differences”.
Fear of Unfulfilled Dreams Not completing “Wants” frequently enough. – Fulfill any of your sim’s “Wants” and discuss fears with other sims.

That is how you get rid of fears in Sims 4. However, if you’re truly not a fan of this feature, you can turn it off. You do that by going to “Game Options”, then “Gameplay” and turning off the “Show Wants and Fears” box.
