Call of Duty: Warzone changed the battle-royale meta when they first introduced Rebirth Island. The smaller map based on the island of Alcatraz offered players a much faster and more intense way to enjoy Warzone. Not to mention you had the chance to come back if you died, as being sent back to the lobby in a regular Warzone match can be tedious. That’s why many players are curious as to if Rebirth will be making a reappearance in Call of Duty Warzone 2. It’s hard to say but read on because here’s the current scoop.
Is Rebirth Coming Back in Call of Duty: Warzone 2?
The launch of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 was highly anticipated. Not only because it was released as free for everyone, but also due to the fact that it came with an entirely new map known as Al Mazrah. This desert landscape of rocky cliffs and towns is the largest map in the Warzone series. Even more so than Verdansk and Caldera. However, that means action can often be far away and hard to come by. This is evidently why players loved Resurgence and thusly Rebirth Island.
That’s why many players are eager for a faster-paced and smaller map in Warzone 2, similar to what they had with Rebirth Island. Unfortunately, there is no confirmed report from Activision that Warzone 2 is getting a Resurgence back or a Rebirth-style map. However, there are loads of rumors and speculation; all stemming from the Warzone 2, season two leaked key art. This leak revealed screenshots of the World at War’s “Castle” map.
The conspiracy is that this will be the new Rebirth-style map to kickstart the Resurgence game mode when season two of Warzone 2 releases on February 1, 2023. Though that is purely speculation as there are no confirmed reports by developers. If we had to guess, we would say it’s only a matter of time before Resurgence and a Rebirth-style map makes their way into Warzone 2. Again that’s purely speculation and hard to say if that’s the case. But, it’s not long away before we find out.
