As you begin building your team of DedSec Operatives and form the resistance throughout London, you may find yourself wanting to change characters and use a different recruit. Maybe they have a better set of skills or maybe you just like their wardrobe style, but whatever the reason, odds are you’re going to want to swap Operatives at some point. Lucky for you, our guide will explain exactly how to change characters.
How to Change Characters in Watch Dogs: Legion
To change characters, or Operatives, simply pause the game and navigate to the “Team” tab. Within the menu, you’ll see a full list of every recruit that’s available to you, as well as a full breakdown of all their skills and abilities. When you find the character you want, simply follow the prompt on-screen to change recruits.
The beauty of this feature is you’ll pick up exactly where you left off with your old Operative. This means you want to have to drive across town or use the fast travel feature to get back to where you were, you can simply continue after a brief loading screen. However, it is important to note that if you are in a restricted area (the red zones on the map), you won’t be able to change characters. So, you’ll need to plan ahead if you want someone with specific skills for that task.
If you have the permadeath setting on and one of your Operatives dies, you won’t be able to play as them again for the remainder of the game, so make sure to be careful! On the other hand, if you have permadeath turned off, your Operative will go to jail upon death and will be unavailable to you until they are released. So either way, it’s best to be careful!
All of London is counting on you, so be sure to recruit as many Operatives as possible and rebuild the resistance. Good luck!
